Benny Shakes

Benny Shakes is an established stand-up comedian, accessibility advocate, and creative powerhouse behind some of the most inclusive and original comedy in the UK.

He is the host of the hit Edinburgh show Disabled Cants and the creator of Blue Badge Bunch, a critically acclaimed, disabled-led game show for all ages. While Benny founded the show, Blue Badge Bunch is powered by a wider team of disabled creatives who share the mission of making disability awareness engaging, honest, and fun.

Funded by Arts Council England, Blue Badge Bunch blends humour and education, giving families and organisations a lively, accessible insight into life with a disability.

Benny has toured the UK four , completed two successful runs at the Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Fringe, and performed at prestigious events including VAULT Festival. Alongside live comedy, he delivers workshops and keynote talks for schools, community groups, and corporate organisations.

Blue Badge Bunch has delivered corporate disability awareness training for companies including Vision Direct, who have rebooked the team multiple times — a testament to the quality, professionalism, and impact of the work.

Slugageddon

Most recently, Benny launched Slugageddon — a hilarious, chaotic children’s show packed with laughter, sock puppets, and slime. The show introduces children to slugs, disability, and teamwork in a brilliantly silly yet meaningful way, and has already been delighting audiences in libraries and family venues across the country.

Whether performing stand-up, hosting a club night, or leading a workshop, Benny brings energy, warmth, lived experience, and a commitment to inclusion to everything he creates.
