Well everyone, it’s now the 1st of August, and wow… what a July we’ve had!

There have been plenty of highs and a few lows, but one thing I’m really proud of is that Slugageddon is finally where I want it to be. I’m so excited to be taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe this month.

This weekend I’m back where I’m happiest—in the shed! I’m making little King Slug painting kits, which children will be able to buy in Edinburgh for just £5. I’m also building the Slugageddon signs, filming behind-the-scenes videos, and creating more artwork. I can’t wait to share it all with you.

None of this would be possible without the amazing people around me.

💙 Susanna Clarke, my business partner at Ingenious Fools, has been the rock behind everything we do. From producing the shows to keeping me organised, she’s been there every step of the way.

💙 Joe Dickinson somehow manages to turn all my mad ideas into reality! Every gadget, prop, game and cartoon that appears on stage starts as one of my crazy ideas, and Joe brings it to life. Together we’re trying to make theatre more interactive, accessible and fun for everyone.

💙 Sarah Smith, our wonderful BSL interpreter, has now been with us for four years. She doesn’t just interpret the shows—she becomes part of them, joining in with the games and helping everything run smoothly. We’re so lucky to have her.

💙 A special thank you also to my good friend Mark Meakin. Whether it’s helping with Disabled Cants or simply checking in with me every few days, your friendship has meant more than you probably realise over the last year.

And finally…

💙 Lucy Apple.

Over the past few months we’ve grown much closer. We’ve laughed together, cried together and supported each other through some difficult moments. I honestly can’t wait to see what the next few months bring.

If you’re down in Penzance later this month, please go and support Lucy’s exhibition, “One More Tea.” I’ve known Lucy for nearly two years now, and she’s one of the most talented artists I know. I’m incredibly proud of everything she’s achieving, and I’m really looking forward to seeing her at the Edinburgh Fringe later this month.

As Disability Pride Month comes to an end, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who’s bought a ticket, shared a post, watched a video, come to a show, supported Blue Badge Bunch, laughed at my comedy, or simply believed in what we’re trying to do.

Disability Pride isn’t just about celebrating being disabled.

It’s about celebrating the people who stand beside us and remind us that we’re capable of far more than the world sometimes expects.

Here’s to August, Edinburgh, and another crazy adventure.
